DSBN offers a variety of programs for students during the summer months to prepare them for the upcoming school year. The "SUPER IN 7" program provides an experience to help students currently in Grade 6 prepare for Grade 7. "GR8 IN 8" provides an experience for students currently in Grade 7 going into Grade 8 and "HIGH SCHOOL HEAD START" prepares students currently in Grade 8 for Grade 9.

These extremely valuable programs are offered from Wednesday, July 4th to Tuesday, July 24th and focus on Language, Mathematics and Skills for School Success at one of A.N. Myer Secondary School (Niagara Falls), Eastdale Secondary School (Welland) or Sir Winston Secondary School (St. Catharines). Transportation is available and a progress report will be provided at the end of the program.

As well, students in Grades 7 & 8 can register for "REACH AHEAD CREDITS", courses that are designed to allow students to get a start at the High School in their community. Courses include Physical and Health Education, Fitness, Integrated Arts and Robotics.

All applications must be submitted to Forestview by Friday, June 22nd. Please see the office for an application or download one at DSBN Summer Programs.

This year’s Forestview’s Got Talent Showcase is quickly approaching! For the past two months, students in grades 3 to 8 have been auditioning for a coveted spot in this year’s performance. The show will take place on Thursday June 21st and Friday June 22nd. Mrs. Zolli, Ms. Hudson, and Ms. Ford have had the pleasure of watching 83 of our students (52 acts in total) try-out on our gym’s stage as singers, dancers, comedians, artists, poets, magicians and as actors/actresses. The 25 acts that have been selected to perform in Forestview’s Got Talent will be involved in rehearsals during Nutrition/Fitness breaks, as well as two or three practices after school. Additional information will be sent home this month. We would like to thank Tyler, David, and James for helping out during the try-outs and all of the students who auditioned.
